Darst Center Speakers Series: Emily Buss on Youth Engagement in Juvenile Justice
Emily Buss is a Professor of civil procedure, evidence, and family law at the University of Chicago Law School. Her research has focused on the legal system's allocation of responsibility for children's development among parents, children, and the state. In recent years, she has focused particular attention on the developmental impact of legal proceedings on court-involved children, including foster youth and youth accused of crimes. She is currently conducting a pilot project in Milwaukee Juvenile Court aimed at increasing youth engagement in juvenile justice proceedings.
On November 29th from 6:30pm to 8pm, Ms. Buss will be presenting about her work in the juvenile justice field as well as her current work in Milwaukee. It will then be followed by a Q and A session.
The event will also be Livestreamed for those of you who can't make it. You can watch on either our Facebook Page (Br. David Darst Center) and/or Instagram account (@darstcenter). Guest planning to attend in person can RSVP here.
