Recent and Upcoming Groups

As Darst Center staff members, our Facebook news feeds have been reminding us, almost daily, of the multitude of opinions out there regarding the future direction and leadership in our country. We have had the privilege as staff not only to engage in those conversations in our own social networks, but to engage with young people from across the country in the last month. Groups have dialogued on questions regarding race, class, privilege, resources, education, faith, (the list goes on), and done so in a way that allows us to carefully consider the reality of others and our own place in the system. As we work together to build bridges and break barriers, we are grateful to the groups who have spent time with us since the last newsletter:

Saint Mary's University of Minnesota, Winona, MN; Our Lady of the Lake, Mound, MN; St. Francis High School, Wheaton, IL; College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA; the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Group, Chicago, IL; and St. Thomas Aquinas, Ames, Iowa.

We also look forward to the experiences and conversations we will have with groups coming to the Darst Center before our next newsletter:

Centre College, Danville, KY; St. Martin de Porres High School, Cleveland, OH; St. Ignatius High School, Chicago, IL; From Mission to Mission, Longmont, CO; Su Casa Catholic Worker, Chicago, IL; Bridgeport Catholic Academy, Chicago, IL; St. Francis de Sales High School, Chicago, IL; DeLaSalle High School, Minneapolis, MN; DePaul University, Chicago, IL; St. Isadore Parish, Bloomingdale, IL.

It is certainly a busy time of year for the Darst Center - 16 groups in two months! Please consider keeping these groups, as well as the Darst Center staff and the clients and staff at our partner agencies in your thoughts and prayers. Consider also, if you are able, a gift of financial support so that we might continue to engage young people with experiences and conversations that open the door for us all to "See it Differently."
